Creating Safe Spaces
Good Vibes In The Park (GVIP) began in 2020 during a time of heightened awareness of inequality and racial reckoning in America, specifically on the human right injustices of racism and systemic inequities. The stark reality of the pandemic juxtaposed with the protests ignited by the murder of George Floyd made the need for affirming, curated and intentional safe-spaces a necessity and even more paramount. GVIP is open and welcome to all.
Centering Mental Health
We center our programming around mindful practices and guided meditation to emphasize the importance of mental health, and to provide sustainable coping mechanisms that are fitting for both the moment and beyond.
Our meditation leaders are trained & seasoned mental health practitioners well versed in mind, physical and body work, hence bringing a holistic as well as wellness approach to the sessions at GVIP.
Affirming Joy
Through engaging activities and live installations, we interact with attendees at different touch points to ensure that they feel comfortable affirming joy here and beyond. This has proved to be a winning factor; attendees often rave about a fulfilling and complete experience during their time at Good Vibes in the Park.
Community Investment
Additionally, since inception during the COV1D 19 pandemic GVIP has used its line-up to employ creatives/performers as well using its platform to highlight small businesses and vendors.
